Giving up their legal and academic careers Pak Wai and Jody left London in 2005 to pursue their dream of opening their own bar and restaurant. Despite having absolutely no hospitality experience they dived in with their trademark enthusiasm which they still exude 17 years later.
288 Bar & Wok is a noodle bar serving steaming bowls of wok fried and soup noodles, classic Cantonese dishes and a mouth-watering selection of street food.
You will be met with a warm welcome from it’s owner Pak Wai and shown to one of their long tables and benches. There are no tablecloths or wine glasses just simplicity and a large selection of Asian beers.
It’s noisy and sometimes chaotic but never boring.
Whether you’re here for a quick bite or eating with friends they’ll have the right sized table for you.
288 Bar & Wok is immensely proud to have won the Observer Food Monthly Best Cheap Eats 2019.
